Applied AI Engineer Job at OpenAI – Delhi Hybrid

OpenAI is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to help organizations build and deploy reliable AI systems for real-world business use cases. The role combines hands-on engineering with customer-facing technical work, taking AI solutions from initial ideas and prototypes through production.

The engineer will work with customers and internal teams to design AI architectures, build applications, evaluate AI systems and solve technical challenges related to reliability, security, performance and deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and build AI systems for real-world business problems.
Work directly with customers to understand their AI requirements.
Develop prototypes, integrations and production-ready solutions.
Work with models, agents, retrieval, tools and data.
Evaluate AI systems and improve their reliability and performance.
Troubleshoot complex technical and integration issues.
Collaborate with engineering, product, security and other teams.

Requirements:

Strong experience building and delivering AI or machine-learning systems.
Good programming skills, particularly in Python.
Experience with AI application development and software deployment.
Ability to work across AI models, agents, retrieval and tools.
Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills.
Ability to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
